PoodLL is a series of plugins for Moodle, the learning management system. It adds features such as audio and video recording, whiteboards which students can submit drawings and annotations from, and components like stopwatches and flashcards. Check out the demo site to see it in action, or look at some screencasts or screenshots. It is often used in language learning classes, but there are lots of people using it in different ways.
PoodLL, like Moodle, is open source software. You have access to the source code if you want to customize or extend it. Since PoodLL 3 it does require a paid subscription to use it. Subscribers generate a registration code for their site(s).
PoodLL consists of 9 plugins. Those plugins are summarized in the chart and table below. The PoodLL filter contains most of key features, notably audio and video recording, and whiteboard drawing. The other plugins simply call on the PoodLL filter to make those features available in different areas of PoodLL, such as quiz questions and assignment submissions. So the PoodLL filter is a prerequisite for all the other plugins.
