I posted a new version up last night. There are a lot of small changes here and there and one or two new features. A brief rundown of the changes:
It is all available from the downloads page now. I will put it up on Moodle.org in a week. As I mentioned in the last post, its all available using Git now too. Information on Gitting PoodLL here. Some more information on the changes is below.
Time Display on Video Recorder
Convert to MP3/Mp4 checkbox on recorders
You can check the box to tell tokyo.poodll.com to convert your recordings. Before now you had to apply a site wide default in the PoodLL filter settings to do this.
Auto try ports if can’t connect
Performance is better on port 1935, but it doesn’t work for everyone. So the default has been port 80. Now the PoodLL recorders will just take the first one that works. So it is best to set the default as 1935 and let PoodLL do the rest.
Video capture size selector in filter settings
It is a little easier to select the default capture size for video now. Also the 480×360 option has been added.
When to use HTML5 and when to use Flash? The age old debate. Now you have some control over this by setting HTML5 profiles for recording, playback and widgets.
Uploaded videos from iPad and iPhones and android devices can now be autoconverted to MP3 or MP4. You will need to have FFMPEG configured on your server, and configured with MP3 support. Make sure you also “check auto convert to Mp3” and “auto convert to MP4” in the PoodLL filter settings also.
