Over the last week a number of people have reported problems with playing back recorded audio files in PoodLL. After investigating many avenues, I found out today that the latest Flash Player has a bug that breaks audio playback if there is no video stream in the file. The Adobe bug report/issue is here:
I can confirm on my own machines it affects Flash Player version 220.127.116.11 , and does not affect Flash Player 18.104.22.168. I do not know from which flash version it first appeared, but it appears very recent.
I am working on an mp3 recorder but it won’t be ready for a few weeks. Until then you will need to use older versions of flash, or record with video. I know those options won’t work for everyone, but it is out of my hands unfortunately. We just have to hope that Adobe fixes the problem soon.
[box type=”info”]2012/04/18 We have found a way to fix this problem at the server end but it is quite complex. It will only work if you are recording to our tokyo.poodll.com server and can access it via port 1935. We will try and implement over the next week. Please indicate in the comments below if this would be useful for you. [/box]
[box type=”info”]2012/04/22 You can now record and playback “audio only” files again, provided you connect to our Red5 server, at tokyo.poodll.com over port 1935 . To do this, on your PoodLL filter settings page, change the PoodLL Server Port(RTMP) to 1935. [/box]
