I am just finishing up PoodLL 2.0. It is a good deal simpler than the previous PoodLL. Apart from supporting Moodle 2.2, the major difference is that by default PoodLL will use our Red5 server hosted at Amazon. This means users won’t need to install Red5, and will still be able to do video and audio recording. That is great news for Moodlers who use simple web hosting like Blue Host or GoDaddy. It also means fewer headaches getting it installed in your school. Right now the server is in Tokyo, and we still do not know how fast it will be for users outside Japan. But if there is enough demand we could possibly start another server in the US or Europe.
Unfortunately the upcoming PoodLL release is really a beta release. There are still changes to come, and not all the old PoodLL features are there. Most of the simple widgets are there, the stopwatch, the countdown timers etc. The audio list player and video galleries are also there but they take a little more work to set up. We will be working to make that easier, but feel we should get PoodLL 2.0 out the door first.
The website will be undegoing some changes as well, as you may have noticed. Exactly when can you download it? Maybe in a weeks time. I will do my best.
