PoodLL has been out for nearly two weeks now, and over a hundred subscriptions have been made. The bulk of those are free trials of course. Its been great to get some feedback from users. Lots of little (and not so little) issues were reported. So there have been a few updates pushed out to Moodle.org over these two weeks. The biggest teething problem however has not been PoodLL, but managing payments and invoices. Our Paypal account being a Japanese one, can not access the same APIs that US ones can. It took almost 10 communications with Paypal support before they figured out why it wasn’t working. The end result of course was that it wasn’t working. So we turned to Stripe to handle payments. So far so good, but this has meant changing all the prices to yen. Stripe Japan currently only does yen. My apologies to anyone who was shaken by all those zeros. Its still approx. US$79 for individuals and $US379 for institutions.
Now that the various support and payment issues are largely resolved, I am looking forward to getting stuck into documenting the basic PoodLL features , and highlighting some of the lesser known ones. And somewhere in all this, I did take the family to Tokyo Disneyland because it was planned 6 months ago and dribbling on about Paypal got no sympathy. Here is a photo of the PoodLL Guy and (most of his) family at Disney Sea.
