This afternoon we added the PoodLL boot CD ISO file to the downloads area. It has been around for a while, but it hasn’t been available to download because it was a bit tricky to set up. Those problems have been fixed now (thanks Thom).
You simply need to download it (nearly 400mb – ouch) and write it to a cd. If you have not written a CD using an ISO file before, it is a complete CD image. If written properly to the CD, the result will be a full directory of files (not simply the ISO file). Most CD writing software has an option to do this.
After you boot it, you simply need to choose a screen size and type, and you will have a working PoodLL/Moodle/Red5 stack. From there you can access the site by opening the web browser(“browse” icon) and clicking on the (small) PoodLL Demo link on the left hand side of the default home page.
We have also posted to the downloads area a Moodle backup of a PoodLL demo course, that you might like to restore to give you more things to try out.
In the next few days we will get some more documentation up on the whole process.
