Work is underway on getting PoodLL ready for Moodle 2.7. I hope to have it ready by the time 2.7 goes live. The biggest change will come in the PoodLL Anywhere mod, because Moodle is moving to the new Atto html editor. The other PoodLL plugins should require only minor maintenance.
As of April 1st I, the PoodLL Guy, am working full time on development projects, mostly for Moodle. A lot of people have asked what that will mean for PoodLL. It means lots of good things. First of all, PoodLL will always be free and open source. There won’t ever be a price tag. And I will be able to put more time into it than before. Of late PoodLL has become much bigger than a side project and it is high time for some upgrades.
People have been requesting features and tweaks here and there, and I will do my best to include the ones I can. They include logging how often users play a file, adding a pause feature to the MP3 recorder and improved support for mobile recording.
The PoodLL website is currently getting a makeover, and when it arrives back there will be some changes. The PoodLL Kaboodle will be gone, and most downloads will redirect to the Moodle plugins page. There will also be commercial services such as PoodLL hosting, premium support and premium Red5. There will be a “PoodLL Plus” section for some funky new mods that I have made that don’t fit elsewhere. And I hope to have “office hours” once a week, so we can “skype” or “hangout” in real time.
There is now a dedicated forum for PoodLL on Moodle.org. If possible please post your support enquiries there. It helps more people that way. It is here: https://moodle.org/mod/forum/view.php?f=1189
