Well since we are all teachers around here, December has been the usual making, giving and marking exams. Followed by getting the second semester grades in. So there has not been too much PoodLL development again. Though I did manage to add support for putting images and simple text formatting on the PoodLL flashcard widget. I also started on a very *simple* spelling drill widget. Thom fixed up the poodll audio player widget so that it is possible to set the text that shows in place of the audio player when it is embedded. This allows you to add “audio enabled words” to your content so that students can click on the word and a player will appear and play a sample of the word’s pronunciation. And he has also remastered the PoodLL Pup Boot CD image with some bug fixes and the latest versions of everything.
To my shame I realised that the latest version of PoodLL available for download had not been updated with some of the more recent changes, including PoodLL flashcards, so I have uploaded those. The latest version of the PoodLL Pup Boot CD will be up later today. Thanks for your patience.
And whats in the pipeline? We will be adding a forum to the site to be better able to deal with user enquiries and troubleshooting. We will also be starting a demo site that you can use to play with PoodLL a bit before you install it. I have a few more widgets to get made, more on that soon. And we will going along to the Moodle Moot in Kochi, Japan in February of next year.
